Watching Oliver Stone's Untold History of the United States, I'm legitimately surprised that I can watch the horrors of the last days of the Nazi regime, with all the carnage and all the dead bodies piled up in mounds at the concentration camps, and the biggest thing I'm thinking is "that performance of Alexander Nevsky is too fucking fast. Who conducted this, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes?"
Now for a properly timed version of the Alexander Nevsky cantata: I may be spoiled by Temirkanov's 1995 recording of the Brohn reconstruction of the score, which was designed specifically to match with the film, I admit.

I find that utterly impressive, that you could watch anything with the words 'Oliver Stone' and 'History' in the title, and be able to focus on the music. Boru
