Not everyone has the same skill set.
Boru Nonsense.
Simple fact - most people just never try.
I can build a house - plumb and wire the whole thing.
Never had any training.
I can rebuild engines. Diagnose complex mechanical problems with no manual or documentation. Again -no training.
I can drive a well, plant a field - butcher an animal and cook a decent meal. I can even brew a nice beer.
Still no schooling.
How?
I tried.
After a while you pick up enough skills to do other shit you never tried before - and more often than not - get it right the first time.

Who said anything about training? Over the course of a life time, people acquire certain skills. No one acquires every possible skill. Thus, people acquire different sets of skills.
Can you build a mandolin? Can you play a bodhran? Can you successfully remove a glioblastoma? Can you shoe a horse? Can you write an opera?
Not everyone has the skills to do everything.

Well, my room’s harrowing and repopulation is now complete. Now to try and get back to a sense of normalcy and start the day: at 4:30 PM.

I have built guitars. So if you don't mind a solid bodied mandolin - no problem.
And I dated a ferrier for two years - and helped out a time or 16 - so yeah....
So 2 outta 5.

How are you at troubleshooting a Scorpion Flying Probe? Are you any good at geometric dimensioning and tolerancing?
I think you're missing the point. We aren't all capable at everything. For instance I wish I had paid a plumber to work on my two shower fixtures. I spent easily two weeks doing something that surely would have taken much less time by a professional. I could have just worked some overtime plying the skills I'm excellent at to cover the cost of a professional and it would have been a win-win.

Agreed...there are a lot of things you can do if you put your mind to it and use the resources available to you. However, not everyone has the aptitude for everything.
I grew up with a father who figured out carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and many other things because he was so inclined. He was also a veterinarian, which required training but he had a knack for dealing with large animals having grown up on a farm.
I know I got the mechanical aptitude I have from him...either it's genetic or it's because I spent so much time with him and was interested in learning such things.
Years ago I worked with a man who could little more around the house than change a lightbulb. He spent a fortune on handymen and mechanics.

Good kitty.
The Cure shouldn't be blamed for anything except that, "Friday I'm in Love" was far too pop-starry for my tastes.
All right you.
Notice I did not capitalize "the cure".
Smart ass.

At work.
Thank you fate for alleviating a boring day.
Please desist in sending every walking body with the IQ commensurate with a box of hammers in my general direction. Also, some lube on the 'Life experience' inserter please.
