I blew up my '66 Le Mans driving across the Nevada desert between Tonopah and Goldfield. No AC, but 143 MPH with the windows down does tend to evaporate your sweat...right up until the rods start knocking.
The rebuild by the person I bought it from was a bit less than stellar. By the same token, I've had two other cars (a '69 Camaro, and a '65 Malibu), both powered by 327 CI SBCs that could turn 140+ without grenading. You can wind an SBC WAY up, even without a lot of serious prep.

That kind of speed will stress any engine with a 1 to 1 final drive ratio.
At least I had the common sense to install an AOD in this thing due to the regular freeway use.
But with thongs on (Aussie thongs, you perverts! (flip flops)), my feet were burning...

Buying myself an early Christmas present. I wanted Civ VI, and read that all you really need is the base game plus one DLC, but that's almost as much as the bundle, so I just got the works.

Just finished processing payroll for the week. I've been able to cut the time it takes in half in the last couple months. It's one of the most convoluted payroll setups I have ever seen.
About 40 people will be happy Friday morning when they get their pay.

Taking a break from cooking. I am working on the chili that I've been planning. Peppers and onions chopped up. Need to chop the hot peppers and mince the garlic and then I'll be ready to cook.
