What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
About to head downtown to pick up some packages. I've got two Amazon returns, but for some reason Amazon wants them returned to different places. So I guess I'll be heading to Rosedale as well today.

There are 10 kinds of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Football and assorted alcoholic beverages.

I picked up my new covered enameled cast-iron skillet yesterday. It was a used product from Amazon warehouse. It was packed as a box inside a box inside a box inside a box. Yeah, the second to the last packaging was damaged, but otherwise it's like new. And I swear the lid weighs as much as the skillet.

Never naked. One should at least wear socks in the kitchen.

Got to see the newest chapter of Joe vs. Elan School drop. Fortunately, it was the cops following him (for pot-related reasons) and not someone from Elan. And while this new chapter ends with someone from Elan asking Joe to go back, the fact that it's Gino, the one kid he could actually get to bond with behind Elan's back and the one who seemed to see through the culty shit in the school and spent much of his first few months finding ways to fuck with the Strengths and even refused to give Joe up as an accomplice, implying he wants to go back there for revenge is more intriguing than anything.

Granted, I know that this revenge isn't going to amount to much, since the school managed to keep going unmolested for over a decade after when I assume this is going to take place (1999-2000-ish, if the Joe Ricci gubernatorial campaign at the end of Joe's stay and the timeskips are any indication), but I hope that Gino's earnest about his plan for payback and he hasn't gone blood simple like the rest of the school. I would love for this to be like the last act of The Shawshank Redemption where Andy manages to leak a shitton of incriminating information about the warden to the press and they finally have to face the consequences of their horseshit, or even if it's just violent revenge (probably more likely), even if it's not likely to amount to shit.

In my actual life, I managed to get back to Half-Price Books for the first time in four weeks, got some stuff, including an early MST3K DVD boxed set (Volume 3).

On a more frustrating note, I noticed that the dryer was somehow going for hours on a single cycle. No heat. And apparently, the ignitor blew out and the guys from ABT won't be around for two weeks. I'm not sure if I should just try drying the clothes on a clothesline or if I should rely on the heatless tumble dry (which still works; indeed, it'd probably go on forever if I didn't turn it off manually.) And in that load that took hours to dry, I put my four resurrected T-shirts, and I'm getting mixed results so far. One is already starting to peel off, one has a weird "cotton knot" that would probably result in a hole if it wasn't covered by the image of the Oswald Band, and most of them already have some cracking that I hope isn't a bad omen for their durability.

Nico finally got his surgical wrap off today. Still has some healing to do and he developed a fungus so it needs ointment application. He's now wearing a kids sock on the affected foot. Plus a sandwich bag when he goes out. Panic

After a couple of foot surgeries I used gallon plastic bags to keep my foot dry in the shower. A few years ago, I wore a CAM boot for 5 weeks. I was amazed, and the tech was pleased, that it didn't stink to high heaven when the bandages came off. As long as your dog kid leaves the foot alone, he'll heal up.
