So, here's what it looks like electric guitar tone is down to:

Guitar:

• Pickup: model, placement, and height.
  
• Volume pot value
  
• Presumably proper setup helps, even if just serves to make the instrument more playable and doesn’t actually change the tone.
  

Amplifier:

• Tone Stack (Treble, Bass, and sometimes Mids)
  
• Knob Settings of that tone stack
  
• Placement of Distortion in amp circuit.
  

Speaker cabinet (though the video on speaker cabinets includes a few more potential tone changes, none of them reflect real-world use, unless there actually are guitarists who drape their speakers in multiple t-shirts.):

• The speaker (the model itself, even if you change one and mic the other in a multi-cab speaker, things change)
  
• One thing that changes frequencies around 3kHz: Planks over speakers Vox-style.
  
• Things that make the speaker emphasise lower frequencies (below 200 Hz), roughly in order of how drastic the change is:
  • Fully Closed back vs. fully open back vs. closed back with opening.
    
  • Multiple speakers in one cab.
    
  • Larger cab size.
    
  • Dividers between said multiple speakers.
    

And, while he's apparently going to cover the speakers themselves soon, it looks like, when it comes down to the tone of an electric guitar, anything that isn't on the list that I've accumulated over the months of waiting for his videos doesn't actually change anything. Tonewoods, even the question of whether the amp is tube or solid state, mean fuck-all.
