What's everyone up to right now?

Feeling yucky from the flu shot. Being old means I get to have the higher dose of vaccine and it kicks my butt.

Pharmacy didn't have the new COVID vax yet so I have to wait a couple weeks for that or find somewhere else. Actually kind of glad to do them one at a time.

The pups and I took a short nap this afternoon but it didn't help.

Watching Wheel of Fortune. Apparently, I knocked my TV tuner offline when I moved it earlier, so it didn't record the news earlier. And I hooked an 8 TB hard drive up to my XBOX earlier to back up the games installed on various connected storage devices. It's been copying games all afternoon and shows no sign of letting up.

I don't feel like cooking tonight. I pulled some steaks from the freezer yesterday, but they could probably use a little help thawing.

Cleaning my ice maker and setting out a ribeye to warm before pan-frying it.

Letting the dogs explore in the yard since it's not 100+ degrees and is only supposed to be in the 90s today. After over a month and a half of triple digit temps the nights are finally cooling off and maybe the house will finally cool off. The dogs need to run and play before we get the two or three days of rain that are forecast for next week.

I never thought I would be so happy to see temps in the 80s and rain. But here we are after baking for weeks. It's been miserable.

At home all day with our old man Nico, his birthday is Monday, will be 14yo and has about reached the end. We don't expect him to make it another year, he has chronic pancreatitis and hip/back issues.

My wife is off with Lexy competing in the national tracking invitational, 1.5 hours away. The her draw was at nine this morning and tracking starts at ten. They run six tracks today and six tomorrow. Have entrants come from as far as NYC, Florida and San Diego.

Day two of cleaning the ice machine. I ran a vinegar solution through it last night, and now I'm running a couple batches of plain water to flush the vinegar. After that I'll run a descaler and a couple more batches of plain water. This would probably have been easier if I hadn't neglected it so long.

I had a bag of ice I bought for cocktails a few months back, before the drama with my liver. I'm using it for my drink today. I may make frozen margaritas later. I've got a mango margarita mix, or bloody maries are an option.
