What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Had to change my email password because Verizon insisted on it. The hardest parts wound up being A) verifying that it was really from Verizon, and B) Getting my email clients to recognise the new password.

Also, I fucking hate fonts where you can't tell the Upper-case I from the lower-case l from the numeral 1. I could have saved a lot of time logging in from Thunderbird if I could have been able to tell that an l in my new iPad-generated secure password wasn't actually a 1.

Looks like I'm going to have to do the first Ravinia cancelation of the season. Dad's back is hurting, and it looks like it's going to be storming while the concert's going on.

I carried around an umbrella all day. It didn't rain. Get home and turn on the game. There's the rain. *sigh*

Good news is that I don't have to have another colonoscopy for 10 years.  Since I turn 67 this year I might just miss that completely.  The other good news is that one of the meds has pretty much stopped the pain I was having.

They will be doing another endoscopy around the end of July to see if the ulcer in my stomach is healing.

It's a good news/bad news thing but at least isn't an awful news thing.

Update after a couple months...I am having more good days than bad ones after taking a handful of pills every day.  This is something that won't ever go away though it may go into remission with flareups here and there.  Currently I have one medication I have to take three capsules at a time every day, another that I have to take three over the course of the day (though I have been cutting back to two on some days), and another that I have to take twice a day.

Starting at the end of the week the first one will be cut back to two a day and I am a little nervous about how that will affect me.  Two weeks later I am to cut back to 1 of those per day.

So the diagnosis(es) include a stomach ulcer which I think is doing better as I am not experiencing the unbelievable pain I was before.  The other is collagenous colitis which I will have the rest of my life though supposedly it won't always be awful.  This may have been caused by the damn statins my cardiologist is so sure I need to take.  Considering it was two years into taking statins that the weight loss and other issues started...I think when I see him at the end of next month he is going to have to find an alternative.

At least I was well enough to take my trip though I did experience one really bad day...I am going to be gracious and blame it on eating on the road and drinking more sodas than usual...at least that excuse makes me feel better.

Next week I go for a general check up with my primary doctor and the end of July I have my stomach scoped again to see if the ulcer is improving, if not gone.

Couple issues...I am still not gaining weight though I am not losing either...not that I have much to lose.  I have to force myself to eat as I have virtually no appetite.  I will be asking about something to help increase my appetite so that maybe I can fluff up a bit.

UGH - sickness and doctors and fatigue...I am over them all.

Called out of work near the end of the day, I was planning on doing something away from home as it's a work holiday, but I have hardly been out of bed all day with fever and aches. It's pretty low key, I'm not miserable but pretty uncomfortable.

I've been oversleeping a lot, so I decided to just add two hours to my night by going to bed earlier. We'll see how this works.

Found this while walking around my neighborhood. Now I’m curious as to what species it is.

In an unrelated note, I’m going to Ravinia for a Schubert concert with Jonathan Biss. Pieces: Impromptus D935 no. 1 and 3, and Piano Sonata D960.
