I think we can blame capitalism for that. You create convenience, add in a bunch of people willing to make an extra couple bucks, and a government willing to allow it to work like that, and it becomes inevitable.

Filling out gift tags. Most years I get help or print them out on the computer, but I did them by hand today. I guess I'm feeling more self-confident and less self-conscious these days.

Making good progress with the gift wrapping. I even managed to wrap some ribbon around a couple of packages, although I taped rather than tied the ends. Still impressive given my dexterity.

That was disappointing. The 49ers' kicker attempted a career-long 64-yard field goal. It bounced off the crossbar. It needed just a few more inches.
