On that note, shame that God won't go beyond just authoring a less-than-perfect book in order to establish his existence. It's as if he doesn't exist, or doesn't care enough to show himself beyond doubt such that the question now becomes "to follow Jesus or not" instead of "to follow Jesus or not... or Buddha, or Confucius, or Mohammed etc".

Point is that, either way, you've already answered that question - "not" - despite the amount of evidence.

If these resident theists really talk to god, what in the hell do they talk about after they've read off their christmas list and begged to be ever so much more holy? Why can't god "tell" them anything new and useful to "WOW" us here at AF? Why do they always forget to ask god to explain some of the old mysteries or give us a convincing prophesy. Why can't they ask to get permission to show us a You-Tube video of them drinking Clorox and Draino to show us their true christian faith?

What other questions can you come up with that they could ask god during their daily conversations?

I think most Christians would see that as asking god to perform a parlor trick. I always understood the idea of prayer to be to keep god's will and purposes in mind when asking for anything, and understanding that if you did not get it or got something different, then your prayer was answered. Even if it was in an unexpected manner.

Its god's will for all to be saved. I cannot be saved unless I first believe in god. I am afraid a book written about him is not enough, I am rather like Thomas, who Jesus deemed was worth showing up for.

Personally I would rephrase their points as, Even if you did believe, you would still rebel, so god has no reason to do these things.

Yet god did it time and again in the old and new Testament. Jesus did miracles out the wazoo as did his apostles. Other lesser miracles were attributed to his later followers.
BUT NOW, god can't tip his hand because too many people might believe, or not believe as the theists here contend. Furthermore, if DRICH or JohnV, or Godschild really would drink a poison that I would bring to them, without ill affects, then I for one would drop to my knees and beg god for forgiveness of my ignorance. I would take time off from work and fly to whatever corner of the world they live in to watch them drink the corrosive liquid.

Guys, do I need to go to the lab and collect a mixture of horrible poisons? Shall we invite the others to come witness? {our atheist, human derived, subjective morals would look down on this act for hurting people too stupid to think for themselves, But there may be quite a few that would still be willing to watch.}
