I don't think you understand the definition of that word.

Making the claim alone isn't enough for something to be considered science.
Something you bible-humpers always seem to forget, I've noticed.

Apparently you haven't, because if you did, you would know that a white flower and a purple flower cross-breeding does not create a light-purple flower. It can create either one or the other. Same with humans. Interracial couples of broad color variation do not necessarily lead to more or less brown, black, or white skin. They can be either/or.
If you can bring up an article to cite this claim, I would be happy to look at it.

And here you go again, this time after ignoring my post that correcting you. It's not about having 'stronger' genes, but that which allows one's species to propagate their genes. Further, as I already noted, humans seem to have warded of natural selection on our own species.

Science is only way to sciencey knowledge. Philosophy, art, music, cooking, love, religion are not advanced by science much. Maybe 2nd order... Cato experiment on your dog first!!!

Because of science;
computer (for art, AND music, and cooking...)
8 track
walkman
discman
frigidaire
kenmore
teflon
oil based vs water based paints
faux canvas
animation
xbox
None of which would be here without science.
Thanks to Cinjin for making it more 'sig space' friendly.

I don't know about you but I see video games as a type of artistic expression.

You wouldn't have a bible to (mis)inform your opinions if it wasn't for science.

Cooking was very much advanced by science. Having so much information at our disposal about spices and culinary complementing, plus having a much more readily-accessible cornucopia of fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs, sauces, livestock, and fish has very much been advanced by science. Music, the same; there's quite a lot more genres and forms of music and means of recording, producing, and playing them thanks to scientific advancement. Art, the same; digital artwork, photography, production, cinema, artistic tools and mediums in general have become greatly advanced thanks to scientific advancement. Love, not quite so much, but it certainly helps that we scientifically understand the biology of genders, the psychology of individuals, and there are now many more means of meeting others whom you might fall in love with thanks to the internet, for example. Philosophy and religion? Well, religion is the antithesis of science anyway; science is empiricism. Religion is foundationalism. Philosophical opposites.

(This post was last modified: October 28, 2013 at 3:23 pm by Angrboda.)
I went to a panel discussion on aging and sexuality on Saturday and one of the repeated comments was how much things had improved from the ignorance, fear, and general sexual confusion that existed prior to Kinsey and Masters & Johnson. Science has definitely had an impact on love, from understanding sexual development, therapy for relationship and sexual issues, reproductive technologies like fertility treatments, the pill, viagra, and family planning, to a greater understanding of the causes and transmission of STDs, including HIV. Science has made a big impact on love and sex.
(ETA: There has also been a sea change in attitudes towards, treatment of, and bigotry and prejudice towards LGBT people in the wake of these scientists' work and others. Life for LGBT people would be immensely different if not for science, including both psychologically and in terms of quality of life, and the toll from minority stress from being LGBT would on the whole be much higher in terms of illness, disease, and costs to society.)
