Because it makes him uncomfortable.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

Now if you excuse me, there's an email from a Nigerian prince I have to answer.

Well, it is a prince so how can that be a lie?

And do you have any archaeological evidence to support this assertion?

Do you think the makers of Roman cement are any smarter than the guys who's current life's work is making bricks/building materials now? Or is it possible that the makers of Roman cement had access to materials we don't?

Why is it so hard to believe these men may have had access to materials that would support their endeavor?

Because it's the same as saying medeival knights had bullet-proof armor but forgot how to build it as time went on. Thinking that ancient people knew things more advanced than we know today just isn't logical. Some things were forgotten over time, true, but not the important stuff.

Bible thumpers used to believe that heaven, with it's buildings, gold roads and gold thrones resided in the clouds. Now that man rides airplanes and spaceships, where did god relocate heaven?

When you take the concept of Heaven and pair it with modern terms and definitions, one phrase describes it best. Heaven is an extra dimensional realm. It is not of, in or above this World. It is not on another planet. It is a level of existence that runs parallel to this one.
Obviously you say this because we all know it doesn't exist in what we call reality, despite what the goat herders that authored the bible had to say.
None of the authors of any of the books knew anything about modern physics (and apparently neither do you). You are simply trying to take the only remaining theoretical possibility for your fictional heaven to exist in any way.

Additional dimensions in reality are just that "ADDITIONAL." For them to exist in one dimension, they cannot have two additional identical dimensions. For instance, when x=1 y cannot equal both 3 and 7. Boiled down, you exist in this dimension as a 3d+T construct (x,y,z & TV (time/velocity)) in reality, but only in this dimension do you exist as this construct. There is no other dimension where you have the qualities of xyztv. The gold of heaven can only exist in the 3d&vt realm that we live in. There is no modern accepted physical theory in which to hide your heaven's gold, rubies, and emeralds.

Probably inside an animal's butthole, since religion is full of shit anyway.

(October 2, 2013 at 12:46 pm)Drich Wrote: Again How do you know what building material they used?

'Brick' is a generic term it simply describes a shape, and arguabliably the fact that they are man made. all other elements of 'bricks' are variables. because the bible did not give you the 'brick receipe nor how long they were baked or even how long they were allowed to dry, before being baked, one can not say for certain what they were able to build.

Remember even the Romans made Cement stronger and more versitiale and able to work under heavier loads and last longer than anything currently being used.http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2013-06-14/ancient-roman-concrete-is-about-to-revolutionize-modern-architecture

It's been 2000 years and we are just now beginning to understand what made Roman cement so strong. And that wasn't baked in ovens it air dryed... So again how could you possiably know what the men of babble were using as building materials?

Nope! Wrong, wrong, wrong. Roman concrete wasn't famous for it's strength, but rather it's durability to the elements. Strength wise, it's weaker than anything you can buy at Homedepot.

Here's a good link about the qualities of roman concrete vs modern concrete.

http://simplesupports.wordpress.com/2013...-concrete/

Really, your stance is silly, anyone with a toy microscope can see what makes up any particular concrete. An aggregate cannot exceed the compressive strength of its constituents and volcanic rock is exceedingly weak when compared to granites and the like. the pyramids are basically a heap of rocks and not a building per se. While one could build a huge pile of bricks, the math gets in the way really quickly. (1/2 base x H) each additional story comes at greater and greater costs of time and material. When you get to 30 to 50 stories high you have a mountain of man-made material that we would have to know about. But alas, there are no man-made mountains that could be your fable's Babel tower.

You are stretching and clawing like a madman to justify your irrational position.
