by revelation it is known that midway thru the 7 year trib period, the antichrist enters the the temple (currently not constructed) in Jerusalem and demand to be worshiped as God. that's something in the future and on the line and would be very convincing as construction begins.
about holding one's breath, God is supra-dimensional to the cosmic timeline. He isn't ushered along with cause and effect transaction of the U's timeline. it's God's U., and His time table.

Cool story. Forgive my ignorance, but how is a 2000 year old manuscript written by a crazy Jewish exile something to be taken even remotely serious? Did Marty McFly and Doc Brown pick him up in their DeLorean and show him these things millennia into the future?

That's pretty curious, though. Did Satan not know what the end result would be of turning against god? Nor the "third" of the angels who followed him? If they did not know, then god is quite the deceptive schemer. If they did, then even being in god's presence and knowing his will did not dissuade them from turning on him. What do Satan and the fallen angels know about god that they preferred to defy him, knowing that it could only end one way?

They were poopy heads, obviously. Does an evil person have a reason for being evil? No. They're just evil. (And if God created them, then he knew they were going to turn on him eventually; God is so full of himself that he had to create his own arch nemesis.)

for approx 2000 years, it seemed highly improbable that the state of israel would exist and with jerusalem the capital. now it is seems improbable that the 3'rd jewish temple will be built especially since most scholars say the temple will be located where the muslim dome of the rock structure currently stands. There are many prophecies concerning the 3'rd temple. God's word is on the line; this prophesy will happen and may even happen in the current generation.
