So did flight, at one point in time. I'm not ragging on you; my guess is that most people felt the same way. There were those who felt differently, but with each failure the naysayers felt more and more sure that it couldn't be done. But someone finally did. And fewer than 65 years later, men walked on the moon for the first time. And some four decades after that, we have people accusing us of "having faith in science instead of god."
Not everyone is interested in moving forward, I guess.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

I have far more faith in science than any god. Science has flown us to the moon, religion has flown us into buildings.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

Hear, hear!
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Have to say people I am not quite getting the tone of the responses in terms of my original post.
Am I wrong in saying that proposals for possible abiogenesis should not be considered in your opinions?
This isn't a God proposal. I am not hanging my hat on it. Its just an idea at this stage which, IMHO, shows some promise.
I was going to take the concept on a little further. Now I'm not at all sure that anyone here wants me to do this.
Confused.
