Shouldn't the OP have made the title be "Abiogensis is IMPLAUSIBLE?"
If you believe in talking snakes, invisible sky daddies, seas splitting in two, people made from dust and ribs, and other various implausible scenarios, one wouldn't really expect "impossible" to have much presence in your lexicon.

starting to look like atheism is fast becoming a philosophical relic.
Do you just google certain words and then look for articles containing them without bothering to actually try and understand the implications of what you're looking at? It's like you're so desperate to justify your fairy tale that you get too excited when you find something that you think is evidence for your belief and just spew it out without stopping to actually comprehend the words you are using.
Seriously, this whole charade is tiresome, and frankly, I'm sick of seeing this thread pop up only to see that it's snowtracks completely and gleefully misconstruing some piece of information as evidence for his/her deity. Either start researching these things thoroughly or just shut the fuck up.

Nah if he did the research he'd be an athiest.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
Quote:Some people deserve hell.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

I've heard the bible makes a lot more sense if you roll it up and smoke it. Maybe that's what's going on here.

one thing i have noticed about atheist is that they don't have a sense of humor. we'll just have to work around that.

Really?
It seems rather intact to me.

"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
