RE: Is It Hypocritical Of Me To Be Athiest?
October 7, 2013 at 10:54 am
Welcome, and may I add my jealousy for not being raised without religion and having to waste so many hours sitting in a church pew.
Don't let the Christers guilt you into thinking you're wrong about being an atheist when you haven't studied Christianity. Just like with all other man-made gods, they are the ones who have a burden of proof to show that their religion is true. It's not hypocritical to say "I don't believe in your god" when no theist of any stripe has ever shown any evidence whatsoever that their god exists.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

No you are not. The biggest hypocrites in life are those who follow religious ideals. Like they never judge people right? I would say that you are fortunate to not have religion force fed to you.
Many people have fallen prey to the deception of idealism invoked by religion.

Don't bother worrying about whether you are a hypocrite or not, just be grateful that you didn't spend years having your subconscious filled with all of that bullshit.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Ok guys, stop hijacking an intro thread. The OP must be overwhelmed by all the fuss in his introduction.
