You mentioned that Christianity was not intended to be a theocracy, but it seems to me that a theocracy is the end goal of Christianity. God will, eventually, topple the human governments that are 'ruining the earth' and replace them with his own government where he is king and sovereign.

As with most archeological discoveries. Hardly anyone will give a shit.
I loved reading through new conclusions made by archeologists and historians about Carthage and it`s culture (kind of my favorite ancient civilisation), but besides myself no one will give a damn that the Cartheginians were not as savage and brutal as Roman historians would later paint them.
Just like no christian will give a damn about any historic discoveries tainting the image of Jesus or dissmissing him as a person.

The word "proof" just doesn't mean the same thing today. It's been thrown around so loosely, and leads to disappointment most of the time. I'd love to see this proof, which I doubt exists.
