But yes, not both as in absolutely 100% male and 100% female. But since gender is technically more of a spectrum, then is anyone really 100%? Most people might be like 9.99999999999%, etc., male or female, for instance.

I was commenting on the bolded part. I bet you meant to put 99.999999999% but left that all important 9 off the left of the decimal. I wasn't taking a crack at your gender, just your minor typo.

@ Sae: Gender is genetic thing in my mind. If someone wants to be called and thought of as another gender after they've had an op, that's fine, but it doesn't actually make it so.
(Oh, and the 9.r thing is not according to 'us guys', it's according to mathematics. Once you understand what 9.r means then by definition it is equal to 1. There can be no gap between 9.r and 1, so since it is no more and no less, it is logically, provably, 1 (but let us not argue this here, but on the appropriate thread)).

I am not talking about identity, but of the fact of physically of whether they are of male or female gender. Whether they are male or female. What they identify themselves to being is not the same as what they actually are, which is my point. If it were then whenever someone thought of themselves as the opposite sex they'd physically change genes!

Sex = male/female and all sorts of little things like trans and inersex. Gender = an amazing blender
Actually... considering that the brain is the most important sexual organ in the body: their gender identity (aka neurological sex, as some put it) takes precedence over their physical sex. Gender and sex are not interchangeable... as one is biological and the other is all in one's head (literal)
So what a person identifies themself as is of paramount importance in 'what they actually are'. In other words, the person you saw as a girl, actually is a guy "in a girl's body" You can't change the genes with our current technological level... although many of them probably wish they could

Well, that appears to be the topic now If you find it so differentiating from the first: maybe a split is coming up? I wouldn't have actually presumed anyone to be discussing transsexualism with me I was so intrigued by the phenomenon (and still am), that I actually sought out tons of data regarding it... and here sit with my current opinion

And in the case of the genetics: XY undergoes all sorts of changes to correct the effects of the messed up genes (Penis, testicles, masculinization, etc)... and XX undergoes all sorts of changes to correct the effects of the messed up genes (Vagina, ovaries, feminization.
So from a genetic standpoint: the genes don't make the identity Imagine for a moment, EvF... that your body was replaced with the body of a woman. You are still yourself within that... but your body is non-compatible with who you are and what your desires are (Sometimes they've been called mounting urges and whatnot) Only your physique matches your genes... but your physique is not necessarily who you are nor what you want
