Love? I wouldnt go that far. Smart, humorous and friendly. With one exception.

I guess I will have to try that aswell.
And who is the venomous person?

I'm going to have to agree with Germans on this one, and I believe that it is a rule that should be discussed.
Generally speaking I don't use ignore lists, however those that do should be allowed to ignore mods, if those mods are participating in the discussions with members.
It shouldn't interfere with your ability to moderate because: a. you can still edit the posts of the person, b. before contacting people by PM it's my understanding that you would ordinarily consult with other mods anyway - meaning any one of them could PM instead, and c. importantly it lets you know that the person on the ignore list probably shouldn't be the mod to send a PM to someone. Finally d. if there is such an important matter that requires that the mod on the ignore list must personally PM someone, surely they could just modify their profile to un-ignore themself before sending the PM?

With all due respect, if he doesn't want to see you pushing his buttons, surely he should be allowed to utilize the ignore function? I haven't seen you give a convincing argument as to why having you, or another mod, on an ignore list would create a larger problem than the one that it might solve?

Yeah, but it means that once people become mod's, anyone who already had them on the ignore list now has to take them off, for instance. I just don't see how the rule solves more problems than it makes, IMHO.

It wouldn't be politic to name and shame in open forum. I'm not about to stoop to that person's level, but be assured it's nobody in present company.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

You might be unaware that mods cannot view other user's ignore lists. Given how heavily we use PMs to do our jobs, not being able to contact a member by PM is very problematic.
With no disrespect intended, if you haven't been on the operational side of the forum, you're really not in a position to judge what would or would not create more problems.
We can't put any of the general membership on ignore either - for the same reason: it interferes with moderation and administration of the forum. That in my opinion trumps a member's inability to scroll past what they do not wish to read or respond to.

There are a few people on here I really do not like, but I think the only one on my ignore list is Vinny, and I don't even remember why.

Yes. That is what it means. But it would seem that the people who do the work do not share your opinion.

For the record....
The only people I put on ignore are those that have a propensity for religious pontification. Usually they end up getting themselves banned anyway.
