My music.

RE: My music.
The Protoss get eaten by the freaking siege tanks... The Zerg can at least swarm over them... But siege tanks force a Protoss player to either build Zealots.. or a better air force (both of which take away resources from tech development).

Nothing annoys me more (In SC)... than a siege tank taking out the pylons for my defensive towers... Luckily we have observers to see the problem approaching ahead of time Big Grin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starcraft_2 should be out sometime in early-mid 2010 Smile But the longer they take on it: the better it is gonna be ^_^ So no rush, Blizz Big Grin I can wait ^_^

Another new unit is the phase cannon, a stationary turret that can be changed into a hovering energy ball that can move like a normal unit, reminiscent of Warcraft III’s wisp units, as long as it remains within range of the Protoss power grid. They can then be redeployed as stationary turrets to act as roadblocks or as forward firing lines.

Well, if you play a rush right, the Terrans will not be anywhere near siege tanks by the time you are fist humping his buildings with Zealots! By the time Terrans can have siege tanks a good Protoss player should have a couple of Reavers (Yeah, I hate reloading them too! Can you say autobuild toggle on scarabs please?) on the field and if you really want to assault by ground you NEED Reavers to punch through defenses, but if you go by air get used to this lovely chorus, "Carrier has arrived." going off double time from two starbases.

I always litter the map with observers when I play Protoss. When I am Zerg I spread my Overlords to define a front around my base that I move to expand my control.

All this talk of Starcraft makes me want to set up a game! I bet I would be rusty as hell but it would still be fun!

Co Co Ju la!

Lol, yes indeed Smile I don't see reavers anywhere on these lists though http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_...t_II_units
Quote:Reaver:[7] The reaver was originally supposed to make it into StarCraft II, but was cancelled before BlizzCon 2007.[38] Its current fate is unresolved although Blizzard Entertainment is working on a replacement.[39]
But I personally prefer air domination for the purpose of destroying meddlesome building destroyers Tongue

http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Phoenix replaced scouts and corsairs... can't wait to try out all of the new units Big Grin That graviton beam + the blinking stalkers sounds perfect for small assassination groups ^_^

My usual troop allotment in the original Starcraft was a number of Dragoons and Photon Cannons, a handful of zealots to throw as occasional fodder, observers surrounding my base and in key points, a few of the stronger ground units (Reavers, Dark Templar, etc), a handful of archons (dark and normal), and intense air superiority... all supported by rapid tech increases and steady advancement of my base to choke points. (I usually make 2 bases, with a 3/2 unit ratio at each, for purpose of resource collecting and resilience [map allowing]) Smile

Quote:"Carrier has arrived."
Music to my ears ^_^

http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Void_ray Will be so perfect for destroying things like battlecruisers and tanks ^_^
Quote: The base damage is 6, increasing to 12 after 3 seconds and to 24 after another 3 seconds.
I suspect those will be a part of my main fleet Big Grin

(ooh, they 'fixed' zealots! http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Zealot_(StarCraft_II) !)

RE: My music.
Bummer, no reavers! I loved those guys because almost nobody used them and in a multiplayer game nobody knew how to deal with their extreme range. They were the artillery of the Protoss.

The Void Ray looks like a resource hog that will most likely get popped before it ramps up to its full capacity, but I guess that is the point, you have to defend or otherwise distract your enemy.

Blizz is 'supposedly' working on a replacement though Smile

Indeed... my guess would be that you need some Phoenix and maybe occasional carrier support to use them right Smile Kind of like the http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Mothership ... they are great assets if you have a balanced air force... but exclusively they suck Tongue Psionic storm a good enough distraction for you? HAHA ^_^ This game is gonna be awesome ^_^

My guess is that one would put say 4 of them in with a fleet assault, and let them focus target a single high-profile target (say battlecruiser?) while the rest of the fleet deals with other issues Smile

Stalkers have O.P. written all over their spindly legs ^_^ Unlike everybody else: I'm the one that REALLY wants a beta key! Tongue ^_^ I looked through both the Terran and the Zerg units when I was done admiring the Protoss... and all I can say is: OMG O.O! Big Grin Everyone is OP, which is why I love Starcraft ^_^
