The Catholic Church spend on the Phillippines.

RE: The Catholic Church spend on the Phillippines.
Some of us live on government assistance and cannot afford to donate much (*coughmyself). The Catholic Church has no such excuse - not to mention, they talk about Jesus all the time... who seemed to think charity is, ya know, good.

You need proof that he is an atheist humanitarian, but you can believe in fairy tales without proof?

Silly theists.

You see this isn't a joke to me!

I have a doctor friend who is there right now donating his freaking life for the effort to help his fellow humans!

Seriously? We're now comparing who donates the most to establish ... what exactly? Obviously how much you're able to donate depends very much on your own circumstances. Now, knowing the circumstances of the Catholic church and how they like to boast about doing charity, you should at least see this coming, that they'll get criticized for donating peanuts.

Speaking of which, that's pretty damn embarrassing for Singapore as well.

It's disgusting at how little the catholic church will give its own people when they need it. Though I was surprised that the UAE gave the 5th most. Just goes to show that they don't care about their sheep.

That's funny, according to the CRS Catholic relief services, they pledged 20 million, which almost covers 20% of the total funds being pledged.

Because the RCC can be completely trusted....

The RCC did not make the Claim, the CRS did. The CRS is an organization sponcered by the catholic churches found and funded in the United states.

The RCC is expected to also make a pledge to aid in philipines as well. It is my understanding that the 20 million that has been pledged thus far has nothing to do with the RCC.

and yes the CRS can be taken at their word because this orgnization is held accountable by the BBB, Charity watch, and Charity navigator. Their numbers have to be absolutly spot on to maintain their standing with these organizations.

How much did you give?

Well since I don't have any spare money and I am a student with no income until my loan comes though next year, I could not give anything. If I could, I would.
