"...new ultra-absorbent stadium."

Wow... that's somethin'. I have to wonder: the article points to it being accidental; do you really think the designers had no idea?

"Hey Ed. Should we plant some trees and bushes around it?"

"Naw, Hal. I like it clean and smooth."

I mean, I know this is in Qatar, so it's unlikely the team of designers included people named "Hal" and "Ed", but whatevs.

Halal and Eid, maybe? Smile

To your first question, I suspect only they, and Georgia O'Keeffe, truly know.

Reminds me of that episode of How I Met your Mother, where Ted's architecture firm was designing this building that looked like a penis, but it was his boss's design and no one seemed to realize it looks like a penis. So he didn't want that to be built and be included in his beloved New York skyline but at the same time didn't want to lose his job. They were even like, yea, let's build trees around it. In the end he couldn't stand it and finally said something. That penis building was pink.

I guess I want to say that I've always thought that show is really far fetched and detached from reality. Not anymore.

Gives a new meaning to "entering the stadium"

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.
