Children/Teenagers Viewing Pornography
November 9, 2009 at 7:39 pm
(This post was last modified: November 9, 2009 at 7:40 pm by Tails Turrosaki.)
I've been thinking about this for a while now...
Way before I joined this place, I'll tell you that...
But the law forbids anybody 17 and under to watch pornography (in the USA, anyways). Which, frankly, really gets my annoyed.
The law shouldn't have say in what we watch and shouldn't watch. That should be our parents' jobs. They do not have permission to control our brains... Besides, almost every preteen and teenager are perverts, anyways... You're not stoppin' 'em.
This law isn't really supported at all. But I find it ignorant for the law to control what we would like to view. Must I remind you of hormones? As teenagers, we really don't have control over them... Like, seriously... (I'll stop there...)
But I'm saying that the law shouldn't be able to control what we decide to watch... That should be our parents' jobs, right? [off-topic]You're not going to grow up a rapist if you watch pornography as a teenager. In fact, there should be less perverts around as well. They don't have to express their hormones by telling perverted jokes and randomly grabbing their friends' breasts (... Yes... They do that here...). We'd blow off all of that shit at home on our computers, anyways... But that's off-topic. 8D[/off-topic]
POINT IS!! Should the law really be in control of what we watch and don't watch?
EDIT: Whew, I'm really post-whoring today. >.>

The problem is that, to many lazy parents don't want to actually raise their kids, but in the same hand, it's because they know the government has no problem with stepping in by adding whatever laws they feel will be voted pro on.
Nudity and ones body, whether it be artistic or simply at a nude beach is one thing...However, pornography is where I, as a parent, would never agree on my teenagers or pre-teens watching.
Yes, Sex is natural etc. etc., however I consider the art of sex to be of beauty, but for when they are at the age of accountability to engage in or especially view in the depiction that pornography offers. I lean more towards the negative side when they are a bit too young as preteen and teenagers.
Now if it's an educational video to help with their decision making and pure knowledge in what Planned Parenting programs can offer, then that's one thing..But not full blown pornography...
Now, I am by far not naive enough to think that my kids would never have sex before 18, or be as sly as possible in trying to get a hold of a porn vid....That's fine, but I'm not going to offer it... They'll have plenty of porn time when they get older, or of course get one passed me.........
Intelligence is the only true moral guide...

Yes, sex is natural and it's natural at a much younger age than most parents would like to admit. The notion that kids don't have sex lives is ludicrous. Most boys are masturbating well before they're eight years old. And when I was a child, pornography was very attractive to me and every other boy I knew. I found plenty and I wasn't damaged.
The idea of protecting children "from sex" is crazy. A responsible parent will teach them about responsible sex as young as possible, encourage them to masturbate and practice safe sex if they choose to go all the way.

Masturbation is actually good in some ways as well. It helps relieve unwanted sexual tension (of course xD), but it also increases the time of when you ejaculate as well. The more you masturbate, the more time it takes to do it again. This a society thing; some people think that if you take a long time to ejaculate that you've had a lot of practice with sex... Well, that's not really the case. :S But it does something, I just can't remember what... Dx
... ... I know somebody's going to waltz into this thread and go, "OMG Ewww!" at some point, I just know it. xD
Anyways, I don't view pornography, except for the few times my friends sent my prank porn e-mails (which is sorta like a rickroll, 'cept with porn). Also from TV shows such as South Park, Family Guy, etc., the children of today should know sex like the back of their hand once they reach the age of 10-13. xD
I haven't gone to any sex classes. Ever. Nor have my parents given me "the talk". And I already know sex. "One stick, one hole," as they say...
My parents have really given up on protecting me from sex. I watch the baddest TV shows there is on television. xDD Not pornography, though... Dur. They never really told me, "DON'T WATCH PORN!!" but I'm sure they wouldn't like it if I watched it anyways. Plus, the fucking law... (insert rant against the "man" here)
I mean, if I were to ever have children, I certainly wouldn't teach them about sex at age 4 or something, but if they ask, "Daddy, where do babies come from?" I'll give them a straight answer.
"A baby comes out of a woman's vagina once a seed from a man's penis is implanted into a woman's vagina, and it takes roughly nine months for a baby to be fully grown inside the woman's uterus and during child birth..." Yadayadayada... Maybe it'd be better to rent a video of a woman having a baby? xDD ... Probably not... They might scar the child. ._.
I'm not going to encourage my child to watch pornography, nor will I tell him to never watch it. I'll just say, "You can watch porn. Just clean up after yourself when you're done." I should say that nonchalantly... 8D Of course, I might have to teach them that excessive masturbation is bad as well... :S I don't want my son ejaculatin' at random moments when he dun't have dat erekshun!!1!
... This is probably going to be locked pretty soon, I just know it. 8D

OMG Ewww!
Seriously laws like that are created to protect children. Pornography really isn't the best way to learn about sex, however teenage boys seem to be fascinated with it and always find a way to get a hold of it. Pornography that is. The man is always going to be telling you what to do. Get used to it

I learned about sex from pornography, and I turned out just fine.
What are people worried about, exactly? Sadomasochism? Homosexuality? Why are these things bad if they make people feel good?
Does the bible give any sufficient reasons why these things are bad, or does god just smite people for not doing things the way he wants them to?
Legalising pornography to minors would be political suicide... There are certain views on things that people just seem to have implanted into their minds and just will not change. Logic and reasoning have no place when it comes to religion and politics.

Child pornography is not so related to the topic, so much as I see anyway. Sure, i'm okay with the distribution, possession, and viewing of it... but only because that makes it easier to track these monsters down and hold them to their failed responsibilities.

More than just teenage boys are 'fascinated' with it. If someone has access to the internet: they have access to pornography. I agree that 99+% of it is a ridiculous way to 'learn about?' sex... but that doesn't stop a thing from being 'fascinating'.

What? You're OK with it but people who commit these acts should be "tracked down"? How does that many any sense? Do you think it should be illegal?
