For a while I collected his tracts because I thought they were parody. Boy was I wrong.

This guy would fit right in at Fundies Say the Darndest Things. Lots of people think it's a parody because the tracts are so out there, but Jack deserves a padded cell somewhere far away. I've seen some atheist reviews of them, like at Bible Reloaded. That's some entertaining stuff.

I like the one about DnD. Apparently playing the game will let you do magic, and character death will be so traumatizing that you'll kill yourself after being kicked out by the rest of the group.

That is my favorite Chick tract. I would go as far to say that that particular piece of schlock and pablum is the greatest religious tract ever.

There is a whole story behind it. It is based on the ramblings of a lunatic named Particia Pulling, she founded the organization Bothered About Dungeons and Dragons (BADD) and went around lecturing on how D&D was responsible for her son's suicide -- and that's not all, according to Patricia -- that particular RPG was responsible for all American teenagers' problems. Like, you know, there was no acne until D&D was created.

That was a good video. I'm sorry that a woman's child committed suicide, but this extremist view that the new thing in town must be what's wrong with society is harmful to progress. This isn't the first time that anyone has tried to control what children think, and that's not including religion. ny time someone kills themself or others, the media loves to jump on games or new music or whatever. Not that religion has ever caused anyone to commit suicide or kill people.

I love how Chick seems to live in some paralel universe where homosexuality is completely accepted and celebrated, Christians are a persecuted minority in America but every other religion is acceptable. Has he paid any attention to how the rest of the world is the exact opposite of how he depicts it in his absurd comics?

One of these days we'll have to get Jack and Fred together, and see which one can out extremist the other.
