Wiccans are not given to claims of authenticity. They know it was invented by Gerald Gardner in the 20s.

Wiccans are generally fat girls who like Cats. Harmless really.

You're correct about Satanists. Off about Wiccans.
Wicca was invented by Gerald Gardner in the 1950's, not 20's. He brought it over to the US later. Some of their stuff is based off of older traditions and whatnot, but I'm also pretty sure they pulled most of the stuff they do out of their ass.
As for Wiccans being fat girls who like cats? Please. I know 5, and three of them--myself included--are skinny as hell ;P (okay so I'm not Wiccan anymore, but it still applies!)

I have a friend who's a Laveyan Satanist. She's nice. They're basically atheists with a dark side, lol.

I like your "celebration" ideas! ;D

Absolutely right about Gardner and the fifties I have no clue where I got the twenties from when he was in Malaya.

I still listen to pagan podcasts because I still think it is pretty and shiny, I just see it differently. I did go through a stage of just beating atheist podcasts to death though which actually improved my knowledge on a lot of things Smile

Humans have a spiritual side. This is what you miss the most I think. I would invest that in goodness and honour even if you don't believe in God, try to be righteous, good and honorable. Strive for justice instead of trying to learn tricks to use the spiritual world to your worldly advantage.

I would also reflect about things that can point towards God's existence like intrinsic value.

I've heard people say that about lots of religions. Here is the main problem with that statement. You can do that with anything on it's own. You don't need some religion or philosophy to tell you can believe what you want. You can do it all on your own.

Why, what really is justice? Why strive for justice when I could strive for my own selfish desires?

But....I don't have the patience to sit for an hour, two hours, listening to people talk. I have a short attention span. I do like books, though. I've been reading, "Why People Believe Weird Things", by Michael Shermer. It's good!! Totally perfect for now Smile I got a bunch of other books I need to read....
