As a person of color I find that word awful and I don't really see a need to for anyone brown or otherwise use it. As I already stated if you want want to use slurs and feel like someone is "limiting" your vocabulary then you are childish and rude. No can force anyone to speak a certain way, but remember how you speak and what you reflects how you're seen.

I also see the word as repulsive because of it's association with a certain people, it was meant to degrade them, just as some here use xtain to degrade Christians. When a word or phrase is directed at a certain group it shows lack of respect, it shows a lack of maturity. Now if the same word or phrase is used across the board for everyone it's meaning changes, but should it still be used, I think not, it's original use is not forgotten and still brings up unpleasant fillings. Just because there's freedom of speech in this country, it doesn't mean we are to throw respect for our fellow man out the window.

I thought maybe you started this thread as perhaps an intellectual look at the origins of racial slurs or maybe a harsh rebuke of someone using it in the media; at the very least perhaps the thread would be an inquiry into it's use.

How dismayed I am. Outsiders and theists alike can now use this thread as a stick to beat us with. "Look at the mean nasty atheists. They have no moral scruples at all. They actually try to offend people for no reason whatsoever."

We give you the freedom to make stupid threads like these, but to any guests reading this thread, I do not think for a moment that Belac Enrobso represents the overall mindset of the atheists that frequent this website.
