RE: Do You Consider BDSM Immoral?
My personal moral compass tends not to point toward consenting adult sexual behavior. I find it neither moral or immoral and I don't really think about it. That being said, I find some BDSM practices sexy and others disgusting to look at. Welts on people don't turn me on, etc. The cool thing is, I don't have to look at some broad having her girly bits pumped up or look at a dude in a gimp mask getting fisted if I don't want to.

Edit: I'm not sure where I saw it in this thread, but someone referred to BDSM practitioners as kinky or kinksters. I know a lot of people who do that and I find it silly, much like the vanilla terminology. You can have off the wall sex without it being BDSM, so why make it sound like people who don't do it are boring?

I don't consider it immoral, but then, I'm into it. Maybe I'm biased.

Honestly... safe and sane are irrelevant when regarding 'morally acceptable' (from even a moderate perspective).

If all of those involved with a capacity to disagree happen to agree: may they do whatever the hell they like.

Instant ramen is good and all, but adding some spice really gives it flavor. It isn't that vanilla can't be (or isn't) fun... it's that it can become somewhat boring to those who are used to a whole lot of spice.

Hell, I would note that 'off the wall sex' is very much the spirit of BDSM... they don't just want sex: they want SEX. The very thought of 'vanilla' is generally more aimed at missionary and doggystyle than it is 'sex using bodies only where all pain is completely unintentional, complete with zero roleplay, zero sensory depravation, and both all parties are considered completely equal in all facets of the lovemaking'.

People just don't tend towards thinking like that Wink

I just think some people in the BDSM community think there is BDSM and then there is missionary. I can manage to have some pretty kinky sex without hurting, being hurt, being tied up, etc. Not that I do none of those things, just that I'm not in the business of acting like BDSM is the only way to be kinky.

Some people think in extremes. Nothing you can really do. I once read a series with kind of a downer ending regarding the main characters, after they saved multiple worlds. Alien invasion stuff. Anyway, supporters are like "This was a war story! Did you expect the ending to be all rainbows and sunshine?". I'm like no, but there was middle ground for the characters to be at least somewhat happy without most of them winding up probably dead by the end in a bolivian army ending.
