I think most of what passes for feminism on the internet, especially in certain atheist spaces, is shit *cough*RebeccaWatson*cough*.

I think I've there - once. It truly was the most tightly controlled and oppressive forum I could possibly imagine. (What am I talking about .. there are also the Christian sites.) Anything can be done badly but that doesn't mean we should consider the entire endeavor to be shit. Anyway it probably is time to question conventional feminist positions in light of societal changes. My lot is being swept out by the next and everything has to be rethought again. But I hope they do mind the baby.

True, but part of the problem is that they aren't trying to fix their own problems; they seem to be denying that they have any problems while behaving like mirror images of the Christian fundamentalists they hate so much. The people who were banned because they stepped ever-so-slightly out of line question them a bit, but it's never been well enough organized to really get them to notice. Maybe, if you could get enough of these people together and get them to talk rationally and reasonably about their complaints and get them into the larger picture thing, there could be a legitimate place for them.

True but lets hope they don't speak for all feminists. I do have a small story to share about feminism gone awry though.

In junior college before I transferred to Cal I took a course called Women in Film. The instructor was pretty cool and I almost always agreed with her. But then, and I can't remember the film that brought it up, after some film about politics and war she actually said "Women should be given this power. They can't do any worse."

How naive! I told her if power were the kind of thing that was handed out to good people we might even find a few gents that could do better. The problem is power isn't that kind of thing. You have to take it. Anyone who will do what it takes is going to be pretty much be cut from the same cloth regardless of sex.

Unfortunately extremists on either branch for gender "equality" take a shit upon the moderates who only care about making things better. To such extremist, there is only supremacism for their own gender.

It harms everything that moderates stand for in favor of vitriol.

Then it is society's responsibility to allow all people to express sexual interest so all people can have mutually desired sex with each other. In modern PC feminazi society one cannot express sexual interest without causing one of those bullshit "sexual harassment". Unless of course one is female.

You seem to be advocating for sexual freedom or sexual liberation, not for "the right to have sex." Being granted a right implies an obligation on another's part; your right to have sex would allow you to demand it from someone else whether it was desired or not, and I assume that isn't your intent. Because it would work both ways, so to speak.

As for "expressing sexual interest," I think that's one of those areas with definitions that are far too vague and slopes that are far too slippery. It might simply come down to societal norms and what people expect of one another and how important it is to you to be like and/or respected. Depending on who you ask, modern society is still far too misogynistic or far too sensitive to women's desires. Your experiences will still depend largely on how you comport yourself and who you are dealing with in any given circumstance. And that's not a bad thing.
