I do know what the comma is there for. It kinda changes the meaning a bit.

I don't believe Krishna ever promised that.

Of course Krishna didn't say that. This is because he is not real.

Consciousness isn't something you have that you can lose your body is what you have you can lose so you have that the wrong around, even assuming materialism. And literal non-existence wouldn't be darkness as if you could perceive darkness then you must exist to perceive it.

They would be if atheism/materialism is true.

There are other alternatives though.

It wouldn't really ruin your day if you didn't exist.

Absolutely. I prefer the option that doesn't involve throwing myself a pity party because the Universe isn't exactly how I would prefer it to be. It also doesn't involve telling myself stories and believing they're true simply for the purpose of making myself feel better. So what are your alternatives?

The universe would be exactly the same either way though there's clearly a lot of fine tuning and complexity of structure and everything balanced on a knife edge to allow complex organic forms to generate themselves on suitable balls of rock. All this if you're going to think logically about it suggests a purpose made creation, purpose implies intelligence therefore a purposeful creator, pure logic. You just have to go where all the evidence takes you regardless of what you would ideally like.

You don't need any stories to figure out the cause of the universe it's fairly self explanatory, though will need some revelation to know anything about this purposeful creator intelligence. I could provide you with some.

So by your "pure logic," the fact that intelligent beings exist who interpret the Universe and try to form languages to describe its "structure," this means an even Bigger Inteligent Being exists! And needs no explanation! Because you said do! Pure logic!

What purposeful creator intelligence? You mean human beings? Yeah, Darwin discovered the way to explain that through observation. It's called natural selection.

The universe could easily have been an incomprehensible chaos that by chance happened to throw up intelligence life when given an eternity of time. But what you have instead is a rationally comprehensible structured universe that had definite formation of energy over time in a sequence. Mathematically patterns and order and stuff, it's all very interesting when you really look at it.

We're the mirror image of the purposeful creator of the universe and we derive our purpose from this. Otherwise we would be random fluke products of blind chance or something but that's not really the kind of universe we live in give the levels of comprehensible complexity within it that be physically observed. So you have an intelligence there behind the creation of all of that. Unless you think of a good reason why not?

Quote:Yeah, Darwin discover the way to explain that through observation. It's called natural selection.

Natural selection would be part of overall process of natural formation of the universe that ultimately leads to intelligence/sentient life. There will be an ecological niche for life capable of civilization on all planets such as Earth so that's always going to be the end result.
Come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant.
