You know, just asserting that god can never be proven or scientifically demonstrated isn't much of an argument. It's just you attempting to keep your unjustified beliefs beyond the reach of logic and reason. Especially when your claim is that god isn't physical, yet your own bible is resplendent with physical components of god; Jesus, burning bushes, angels, all sorts. To say god isn't, or can never be physical, is just a lie.
More importantly, fine: god can't be proven, you can't have evidence for it. Okay, let's accept that.
You are now completely, utterly, and simply unjustified in your belief in god, and by your own admission, you can never be rational in your belief in god. Congratulations.

There are lots of beliefs that science can't prove. Science can't prove that every third lightning bolt in the sky is actually being fired by Zeus, from the safety of his metaphysical dimension that science cannot see or detect.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

No, it just means that if you play definitional word games and move your god-concept out of the realm of unfalsifiability, we will never have any reason to believe in it because it simply will never meet it's burden of proof.
The burden is still there, regardless of whatever bullshit word games and moving of the goal post you try. You make a claim, you have the burden; and it's not the skeptic's obligation to disprove your empty assertions. If you cannot support your claim with anything more than blind empty faith, nobody has any reason to accept your claim; and the rational thing to do is reject it.

Yes I know what I believe and it is not what you just said. You have made the common mistake of thinking you know what other people are thinking.

If you can't prove (with science) God exists if he exists and you can't prove God doesn't exist if he doesn't exist then Burden of Proof argument becomes void.

I have a lot of justification for it even if you aren't impressed with any of it, but no scientific proof/evidence or evidence that could have an alternative naturalistic explanation. You believe it or don't and there is no Burden of Proof.

The burning bush may well have been a vision from God and there would be nothing physically there to see. That's the problem when you want to seek evidence for God with science. At the very best you may find something baffling that science can't explain but there's plenty of baffling things science can't explain, even if you just count life, consciousness and existence in general. It doesn't really bloody know but it has nailed down details regarding certain physical processes.
Quote:You are now completely, utterly, and simply unjustified in your belief
You can justify the belief in many other ways you just can't "prove it with science". Once you have got that out the way you can look at the other arguments.

You certainly can be rational in your belief in God, there are many reasonable and rational arguments. There does have to be some element of what you feel to be true as well but that can be regarded as a subjective form of evidence, God is relational with his creatures after all.

Can you please provide a rational argument for a belief in a personal God ?

Summary of SoCs argument:
'I don't like the burden of proof being on me'
'I can't prove god exists but I have a good feeling and there is some stuff that I can't explain'
'Oh and anything that happened in the bible that is impossible was obviously a metaphor and my interpretation is the right one, i'm a true Christian! And if you don't agree with me, you aren't a true Christian!'

He's a typical Christian, in other words?

If there's a burden of proof you have to explain what you would need to prove and how you woulds set about it. If there isn't anything physically there to demonstrate it will be difficult to demonstrate it by physical means which is what you're asking. Anyone who accept Christ as their savior and believes in one God who created the universe is a true Christian though there are as many different kinds of true Christians as their are true Christians, everyone will have their own take or opinion on something or other.
Come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant.
