Indeed. Sounds funny though.

You put your deism down every time you mention it. I see your anti <any faith> as a struggle for answers. Humour me if you wish. It just struck me as interesting and hoped it would you too.

Christianity isn't built on consistency or continuity. They all hate each other and expect all churches but theirs to rot in hell.

Pop Christian/Pop culture
It's a 'Christian' who seeks to worship according to popular Christian views, rather than worship/living by the bible. Like the example given in the OP. "She did care what the bible said, she believed 'X' anyway."

OP, if you call yourself a Christian and believe Jesus was divine, you are a Christian and I will believe you. Why do you even think it's a requirement to read the whole bible? There's this belief in atheist circles (shared by some people anyway) that if you don't read the whole bible, go to church, are against gay marriage and abortion and pray everyday then you're not a "good" Christian or muslim or jew. You can be a Christian and do anything you want with the bible. You can think it's 100% divine or 50%, or just a book that should be mostly ignored, or something in between.
Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you

One could be a christian without reading or knowing the teachings contained in the bible, but I doubt that such a person could be a "good" christian. A "good" christian would seek to increase his knowledge of God's word, which is contained in the bible. Lack of interest or motivation to do so doesn't seem to apply to a real follower of Christ.

Here is Gods word. You can't be good without reading this shit.
Ezekiel 23 20
There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses.
