How did they tell the difference between a Republican lying and a Republican just being so stupid and crazy that they actually believe what they're saying?

When it's a Republican you're dealing with, if what they're saying isn't openly stupid and crazy, it's probably a lie, and when it's neither of the two, it's definitely obfuscation.

There are Republicans who will tell the truth on occasion, but they don't win elections. Examples include Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock.

Politifact's contents don't constitute either facts or a representative sample. You might as well do a study of what's printed in The Onion or Mad Magazine for all the value that would have.

Would you provide some additional sources back up your statement? I would very much like to drop politifact if it were biased severely.

I don't trust politifact as gospel, but I would like to know what it's limitations are.

Politifact has definitely made some errors, but in general they are correct. But having said that, even though you get a lot of "stretching the truth" from both parties, It is the republicans that generally just out right lie or commit fraud in their desire to get elected.

I do want to point out though, it is most likely because they are trying to keep power in the government. Since they are owned by corporations totally and by Koch and others of that ilk, they have to lie. They have to lie to keep the republican voters voting for them. Else if they were to know the truth, then they would all be voted out.
