Well, my dear, it was proposed in utilitarianism that hedonism was the origin point of human contentment and the massaging of the base pleasures most significant to our progression as a species.

Indeed, Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mill have spoken on the issue to varying complexities. John Stuart Mill in his book Utilitarianism, stated, "In the golden rule of Jesus of Nazareth, we read the complete spirit of the ethics of utility. To do as one would be done by, and to love one's neighbour as oneself, constitute the ideal perfection of utilitarian morality."

So, should oneself like a little slap and tickle, do unto others...

No. We still live in the dark ages. I feel like I should have been born in the future.

And I'm going to lose my very best friend, my dog, in a short time and it's hard not to think about death.
If the hypothetical idea of an afterlife means more to you than the objectively true reality we all share, then you deserve no respect.
