A bit of perspective for the fear-mongers.
I remember how 30 years ago, we lived under the threat of annihilation that could come at any time. Our adversaries at that time could wipe us and all of human civilization out in less than an hour with their intercontinental ballistic missiles, their nuclear submarines and their transcontinental bombers. You might not even get the warning. And they could have done it with certainty with the press of a button.
Today, our adversaries try to set bombs off in their underwear and can't even do that for want of a butane lighter.
I'm not saying homicidal nut-jobs aren't potentially dangerous but ...perspective.
I sometimes draw the analogy that America is the child of Britain. Let's remember the example dear mother England set under Nazi bombardment. "Keep calm and carry on".
The problem is "Keep Calm and Carry On" as a headline doesn't sell for a for-profit media. "We're All Going To Die" works better for sales, especially if you're Fox. That was one thing Churchill didn't have to contend with.
