We're not without fault that is correct. We're all imperfect. No system created is or I don't believe can be perfect. We're about right.

I thought God was perfect. If that's indeed the case, why would he make something so imperfect...in his own image?

People mistake being "made in God's image" to mean the human body, when it is actually talking about the spirit.
John 4:24
(KJV)
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
If you notice, "man" was created in the first chapter of Genesis but Adam was created in the second. Which would seem like a contradiction except that what it is actually saying is that all mankind (all of us) was created in spirit form, then he made Adam, the first flesh and blood man.

Weren't you a "devout christian," earlier on, Miss M? Wouldn't that then entail that the system was, in your view, created by a perfect entity who, nevertheless, included a series of bafflingly amateurish design choices throughout not only the human body, but the entirety of creation?
That's the point of this thread: to point out how deeply out of synch with reality any claim of intelligent design really is.

I was a christian for most of my life, and I studied to become a minister, so I know full well what is meant about "god's image". I'm just making a point about how a perfect god can make something imperfect.

Amateurish? Enlighten me, oh great and holy Esquilax, how you would have made the human nervous system, created the stars, or formed galaxies. Or simply tell me how to create a blade of grass, since your knowledge and wisdom is everlasting.

LOL. Attacking him for not being able to create stars doesn't diminish his point. The fact that many things found in nature are convoluted, unnecessary, and vestigial is a good argument against these things being "intelligently designed". Would a good plumber criss-cross a huge mess of pipes making things complicated, or would he have one going straight where it needs to go? If the world was "intelligently designed", what's with all the inefficiency? What's the excuse?

If god thought humans were "teh shit" why can't I see infrared or ultraviolet like some other animals?
If humans were granted the "special power" to appreciate beauty, why can't we see all the colors that a simple shrimp can?

when you say inefficiency, that implies wasteful. I'll need an example of what you're talking about.
