Intelligent design? Really?

RE: Intelligent design? Really?
For those who believe in "Intelligent Design" how do you reconcile your beliefs with Darwin's theory of evolution?

There are people who believe in a god and also in evolution.
Catholics for example "accept" the basic premise of TOE, but still believe that God gave mankind souls, etc. Not all Christians believe that Genesis is a literal depiction of how the world began and how mankind was "created."

I'll do you a favor and just ignore your very silly reply to me, and I'll list off a few here: the arrangement of human spinal nerves isn't set up for bipedal movement, for one. Doesn't it seem inefficient to just flat out give us the wrong kind of spinal setup? Giraffes have it even worse, with a laryngeal nerve that loops the length of their neck, rather than being a straight shot; that's the very definition of wasteful. Human eyes have a blind spot that octopus eyes don't, for no reason. Dew claws on dogs are pretty useless, for a created animal. Giant squid have donut shaped brains, with their esophagi running through the center; if they swallow something bigger than the hole, they get brain damage. Why do that?

Simply put, reality is too weird to have been designed by something as smart as you're claiming god is. And please, don't go to the same "mysterious ways," stuff that most christians do; squid brains are not, and never will be, an important part of a cosmic scheme.

People mistake being "made in God's image" to mean the human body, when it is actually talking about the spirit.

Ahh those pesky word definitions just get in the way don't they..

An Image is a data pattern transmitted through the eye.

Does your "spirit" create an image that one can see and photograph?

No, it doesn't because it doesn't exist. .. Just like your god.

Yes, and that's the exact definition they had in mind when it was written in 1611.

this requires a much longer explanation than I feel like giving, but I will say this. I believe in evolution. It would be ridiculous to think that Noah took two of every animal on the ark. The bible says he took 2 of each sort, meaning group, or animal family and what what we have today is a product of evolution.

Why they evolved that way? no idea.

No, "sort" doesn't mean that [/baldassertion]

Wait wait wait. You believe in evolution and you still believe the story of the ark? When was this supposed world wide flood? A few thousand years ago? Evolution takes a bit longer than that. A few million years in fact. And wouldn't there be a genetic bottleneck? We know that cheetas experienced one, we also know humans did at (I think) the end of the last ice age where we went down to about 10,000 individuals. Basically all white Europeans are really really inbred, that's why organ transplants are so easy. So if you are saying what I think you are saying, you don't understand evolution.....

Well when I photograph someone, I only get a picture of their body, never any spirit or ghost. So the Image referred to does indeed refer to a physical image. If you've got pictures of spirits and ghosts that are authentic, please share them with us..

Being "quite certain" does not make it a fact, either it is a fact or it isn't.
