Everyone has a different vocabulary level and a different way of expressing themselves based on their continuing education and largely by what they read or watch. I use a lot of big words in real life and in writing. If you need clarification, then please ask for it - don't insult people by telling them they're just trying to show off.

Amen brother!
Damn.
I mean yeah, some people do try to baffle you with bollocks.
As Einstein said, if you can't explain something simply, you don't understand it well enough.

If being "moral" means adopting the thinking of jesus freak assholes I'd gladly claim immorality.
Hello, Heathen.
He had it coming.

I'm sure some of those people think they ARE speaking simply. That's why you ask for clarification. If they refuse, it's possible they're being an asshole. There are a lot of Christians who like to confuse people this way. Most of the atheists on here are more than willing to come up with a clarified statement if you ask them instead of telling them they're being show-offs.

I post how I speak. Most of the time. Also, it depends on the nature of the post. If I am arguing a point or debating someone, I choose my words very carefully. There are words that have nuance, that mean multiple things and fit what I am trying to say better than a "simple" word. I don't do it to impress anyone. Especially around here.
I say most of the time because I do have a tendency to speak a little more ghetto when I'm around my dad/brother. When we get going, my negro side comes out.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I think everyone tends to speak vernacular around family and friends. I sound a lot more southern at work.
