What are you reading?

RE: What are you reading?
The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, by Rachel Joyce. A friend lent the book to me, and I'm enjoying it so far. A lighthearted read.

About Fifty Shades of Grey... I heard that was originally fan-fiction for some vampire crap?
Currently reading 'Survival in the Killing Fields' by Haing Ngor. A good book, but horrifying bits in there.

It still is: by and large, the only thing that changed between it being Twilight fanfic and a "real" book was the nouns. I think it's like eighty percent the same as the writer's previous free work.

Just one more reason to hate it, I say.

The Complete Maus by Art Spiegelman.

The first (and only as far as I'm aware) Pulitzer Prize Winning graphic novel.

It's very good.

"I think I use the term “radical” rather loosely, just for emphasis. If you describe yourself as “atheist,” some people will say, “Don’t you mean ‘agnostic’?” I have to reply that I really do mean atheist, I really do not believe that there is a god; in fact, I am convinced that there is not a god (a subtle difference). I see not a shred of evidence to suggest that there is one ... etc., etc. It’s easier to say that I am a radical atheist, just to signal that I really mean it, have thought about it a great deal, and that it’s an opinion I hold seriously." - Douglas Adams (and I echo the sentiment)

That is... I just don't know what to say. I love hating stuff like that!

RE: What are you reading?
Because I have the attention span of a fruit fly and need at least two unrelated books going at a time:

The Gods and Other Lectures (Robert Ingersoll)
Three Women in Dark Times: Edith Stein, Hannah Arendt, Simone Weil (Sylvie Courtine-Denamy)
Hitchcock (Francois Truffaut)

After these, I plan to gear up for Bloomsday (June 16) by delving back into some Joyce.
