Agnostic leaning towards atheism

Oh, I am in my heart a Pegasister already, but I feel like I don't have the right to the title, since I've watched so few episodes and am not familiar enough with pony lore. And I would love to come to Bronycon, but the problem is that tickets over the Atlantic cost a small fortune.. Sad
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Loved your intro! Looking forward to chatting with you about lots of things so I hope you'll stick around. Welcome.

Since you realize it is just old habits dying down I'd advise you just to observe them. Don't worry about doing anything about it. You've just got some old ripples bouncing around the surface of your 'pond'. Anything you do to flatten them will just create more ripples. Do nothing and they will fade away all by themselves. Meanwhile get on with your new life which sounds very exciting.

You can't be an example of the mad leading the mad, seeing as you're not religious.

Welcome to the forums.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

There's converts who've only watched one episode! No prerequisites of a certain number of episodes to join the 'club'. I know bronies who don't even enjoy the show, but love the community. Hey, and travel is no excuse! I've a friend who comes over from South Africa...bronycon is our hajj lol

Path of least resistance...very Tao lol Tongue Good advice, and it seems to be pretty common advice across the board. I'll just be patient with it then. It took years for these to develop and such anyway I guess they probably are not going to be going anywhere overnight.

I really enjoyed reading through the thread so thanks for creating it. I was/am in a similar position of not really knowing how to label myself when asked etc. You go from always being a christian, a muslim, etc to what? It can be such a huge part of your identity that it can be a bit scary when your faced with the prospect of being without a group, and forced to think for yourself; but, I guess that's the most liberating part when you think of it Smile

That's so true, exactly what it's been like for me, OGirly! I appreciate your thoughts to it. While I'm not happy to see you went through the same process, it's nice to not be alone in this. Yes, my faith beliefs were once how I viewed the world, and my identity. I had a brief identity crisis for a bit, until I found where I authentically 'fit' in. I guess that would be safe to say...atheism. Smile

Welcome to the forums, OGirly! You went through quite the journey to get here!
Teenaged X-Files obsession + Bermuda Triangle episode + Self-led school research project = Atheist.
