Bill Mahar calls Christians out on their delusions

Matt. 24:37-38: “But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. “For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,”

Backpedaling explanations can start now....

So?

Again I did not say the Ark was not apart of Jewish belief. Nor even Judeo/Christian beliefs. I said the ark was not Christian in orgin nor does it have anything to do with message of salvation, which is the core theme of Christianity. So again to attack the validity of the ark is not the acceptable slam against Christianity billy thinks it to be. As the orgins of the ark are Jewish in nature, and core to their system of belief the remarks made are largely antisemetic, even though they are directed towards Christians.

You're a dishonest little fuck aren't you Drippy? If something doesn't suit you for the moment you throw it under the bus as "not Christian" and try to make the issue something it's not.

Then please explain in detail how the ark is indeed a pivotal belief and unique to Christianity.

The story of Noah is about the nature of the Christian god and the nature of the people he created. It's about sin, punishment, and fear/respect of god. This story has also been used by creationists in scientific discussions. It's also a standard story for children's Bible Study and a lesson about not to pissing off god and that it's okay when when the Christian god kills people. Saying that the story of Noah doesn't have an impact on the Christian community is disingenuous, I think.

I love how the Gentiles essentially stole the Hebrew scriptures, gave them a spin no observant Jew can abide, and now freely jettison those same scriptures whenever it suits their purposes. Christian honesty in action!

By the way, your attempt to poison the well (attacking the validity of the ark story is "antisemetic") is duly noted. You do realize that being a Semite does not necessarily mean being a Jew, right? I'll bet you do. If so, your quote above is dishonest.

Then why do Christians take it as literal fact? Are you sure you aren't just mad that Bill is calling the Biblical story of the ark into question? If so, good. Maybe you'll finally change your mind.

I think Drich was referring to Mahar's satirical joke about Jews in Hollywood that went over his head.

Perhaps. I didn't watch the clip.

You calling the guy a "douch bag racist" ...what a great "representation" of Christianity.

So? It's rather important to find out Jesus doesn't know what the fuck he is talking about. Or, whoever put the words in Jesus mouth didn't know what the fuck he was talking about.

And then of course, there is Luke's genealogy, showing Jesus descended from Adam/Noah et al himself. All the way back to Gawd!

Good comedy there...

So, according to Luke, No Noah, No Jesus.

Oddly Matthew makes no mention of Noah, stopping at Abraham. Yet another character with zero historical support. Fictions on fictions.
