I've found that nobody converts to deism. You either are or you're not. It's kind of like how I'm bisexual. I didn't decide to be but rather discovered I was. Around the same time I discovered I was a deist, oddly enough. Not that the two have anything to do with each other.
Some temporarily convert to deism from Islamo-Christianity as a way-station on the way to atheism. Nature's God is a cold substitute for the love of a personal god like Allah or Jesus. Like Honey Badger*, Nature's God don't give a shit.

I did once come up with an argument for Nature's God. Atheists will find it completely unconvincing but it is at least one deist argument that Christians aren't like to hijack anytime soon:
