Okay, but it's my opinion that nobody here should feel like they need to soften the blows for anyone who might be psychologically fragile. If someone confesses that they are fragile, then it's up to the individual whether they want to change their behavior towards that person.

I mean, I understand because deep down, I feel everything SO, so strongly and I am SO, so vulnerable, but you guys probably don't see that because I've developed like a thousand defenses for that and I'm used to people being absolutely horrible on the internet.

Then again, I've been active on the internet since I was 8 years old, and I pretty much never talked to kids my own age on there because kids my own age had nothing interesting to say in my opinion. I pretty much only talked to adults. Kids are mean, but when adults are mean, they bring so much EXPERIENCE to their meanness that they just know how to rip someone to shreds. And I experienced that then, when I was a kid. And eventually when I saw someone being equally mean on the internet, even if it was directed at me personally, I was like, "Whatevs."

But shit, why am I talking about me? This isn't even about me, this is about psychoslice. I want to reemphasize what I have already said to him. This is just not a good place for him to be.

You should, there are people who depend on herd immunity and those against vaccines for unsubstantiated bullshit reasons are killing people.

Atheists have a cause? Do tell.

Atheists would prefer there to be no more superstition and false hope in fictional character and have a responsibility to expose and oppose such nonsense! Argue

Oh, man, you should've said you were gay sooner, because then you would be the gay man of the forum and I would be the lesbian and we would be like the Jedi of the forums, bringing balance to the queer Force.

Okay, when they say you are a "child killer," they are not really talking about you as a person. They are saying that the anti-vaccination trend kills some children, and if you participate in it, you are contributing to that. What they want is for you to say, "Shit! That's awful! I didn't know that this medical conspiracy I believe in could cause that! I see now why this belief is problematic!"

Because you, see, it's not because the anti-vaccination conspiracy theories are so completely wrong that people are so passionate about this issue. It's because those conspiracy theories actually cause direct harm that we can clearly see.

You had me at "no more superstition" but lost me at "false hope in fictional characters." I guess it is true that we would prefer there be no FALSE hope in fictional characters, but doesn't everyone in general prefer their be no FALSE hope? Don't they generally prefer justified hope?

Because there are some fictional characters that inspire hope that I am totally down with, like Harry Potter, Katniss Everdeen, The Doctor.

That they have a responsibility to expose and oppose such nonsense is... debatable.

You are right , I cannot handle this place, because I am too sensitive, its not anyone's fault, its just me, and I have to deal with that.

Generalization. Atheists have no such preferences or responsibilities unless they choose to.

Now if you mean some atheists, then yes, some might agree that this is their responsibility.

My views have become more agnostic since I've been coming to this forum but I'd consider myself arrogant and a fool to say there is no God. How the fuck do I know?
