Baptist Shitballs Throwing In The Towel
|
|
I was excited when I saw your thread title, but I don't see this as throwing in the towel. I see this as an example of the mental gymnastics that are simply required in order for one to maintain "faith" in any religion whatsoever.
Quote:“The recent purported detection of gravitational waves serves as further confirmation of Einstein’s theory of general relativity and of the nature of the Big Bang itself,” Bruce Gordon, an associate professor of the history and philosophy of science at Houston Baptist University, explained to the Baptist Press. “If corroborated by the scientific community, this is a hugely important discovery, and there will probably be some … Nobel Prizes associated with it.”[/quote] Tough for the baptists to be even stupider than the catholics.
As usual, "Christian scientists" weighing in on a new discovery involves a quote from a guy who is not, in fact, a scientist -- unless "scientist" can mean senior fellow shit stain at the Discovery Institute and associate professor of the history/philosophy of science.
As of press time, the teeming army of Southern Baptist physicists and cosmologists were too busy contributing to this remarkable discovery to issue press statements. Their sad god of the gaps argument is expected in due course.
The gap is shrinking.
This seems par for the course. Right up there with using things to retroactively prove prophesies. OMG Israel became a country again! Sure, 2,000 years after it said something about it in the bible. Of course if the bible gave us an exact year that it would happen, it would be believable.
Oh, look at that, Christian "scientists" telling the scientific community that something requires the hand of god to work. Imagine that.
That's their freedom I guess.
Like people who are anti war, getting defended by soldiers?
