I saw it tonight. It had some entertainment value and was much better than the biblical version.
They never used the word God. They referred to him as the creator. It had some freaky rock creatures in it that built the Ark and kicked the bad folks asses.
Rock Munchers! Get Atreyu and and Falcor and lets rescue the Childlike Princess before the flood comes!

Oh well - I've seen Charlton Heston as Moses before now - how bad can this be? (Little side note - In Greek Heston is written as Easton because Heston literally means "shit on him." Just thought you'd like to know.)
Kuusi palaa, ja on viimeinen kerta kun annan vaimoni laittaa jouluvalot!

fb Wrote:Not true. Could have been made more like the film Charleston Heston played in then it would have been more like the Bible. There was no rock men that helped build the Ark. Noah built it. And the Director doesn't even believe in God so why would he care. It was made more about evolution than anything. And Noah would never have thought about killing his family & making God mad. This is getting weirder and weirder. Did Noah really want to kill his daughter in the movie? I mean, repopulating earth and all..
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite. Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment. Quote:Some people deserve hell. I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

I actually agree with the Christians in the sense that I think, if you're going to make a film of a book or story, then you should try to make it stick to the original storyline as much as possible. Otherwise just make a different film.
These Christians are their own worst enemies though. I had no desire whatsoever to watch this film but now, after their obligatory hand wringing and protestations (I doubt any version would've been good enough for them and they would've found something to moan about), I might just watch it out of spite and try and make it a blockbuster to upset them even more. |
