I like Lagunitas because they are popular enough now that I can get a sixer at Publix. It is a fantastic commercially available IPA (not the Palate Wrecker, that's Cthulhu's hop-bomb.)

Don't get me wrong, I love a big hoppy beer - but not so much so that the hops are all that you can taste.

90-100 IBUs in a 7-8% ABV beer is just... wrong. In a 10-14% ABV beer that's got the flavor profile to balance out all that hops - awesome.

Ha - hardly. Now, I loves me a low-IBU malty ale, but grab a Stone Old Guardian some time and find out what you IPA-loving hippies have been missing out on. Twenty-two ounces of 85 IBU goodness at 12% ABV.
