Belching Beaver! I piass by that in NP (I think) on the bus quite a bit. Never knew that was any more than a dive bar.

Lost Abbey is fantastic. I have not had enough of their beers yet to rank them yet, but they're itching to make the grade. I heard their tasting room is directly across from a police station, which is a bit disconcerting given how one beer in San Diego will probably put you over the legal limit.
Yeah...I love Road Warrior...without even trying it, I walked about with a whole case from the brewery (26 dollars for 24 beers on 9% ABV was a fantastic deal). It's fantastic.....I also had their Citra IPA on location and it was great.
Whenever you have the chance with IPAs, go cask. It really brings out the flavors....had a fantastic double IPA with grapefruit zest on cask at Rough Draft. Warmer is also better for IPAs unless you want to minimize the hop flavor....too warm and it turns into a burn which happened when we got a Mission Brewery (San Diego proper) keg delivered warm last year.
I had Mother Earth once when I was in Vista, but unfortunately it was a cream ale, which is my least favorite beer style and it tasted terrible.
Firestone Walker along with Maui Brewing makes my top 5 in America, but the only beer, Chainbreaker IPA, I had from Deschutes was utterly orgasmic.
Oh and I just had a Miller Fortune....really glad they went with the pry-off bottle only so I can use it for my homebrewing bottling collection of maybe 200 bottles.
I still remember the first San Diegan beer I had, the Islander IPA from Coronado Brewing Company....
Yeah, unfortunate what happened to Matt at Stone...the brewer who died in the forlift accident last year....his cherrywood smoked saison is the best I have ever had and I usually don't like that style at all.

Yep. I've definitely met him multiple times. That is really sad.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

It's top-notch, if you like cream ales. Why on earth would you order a cream ale if you don't like them? Mother Earth usually has ten or more beers on their tap list, including some amazing IPAs, and you can usually find one casked...
Lost Abbey makes great beers, but I get the feeling they're going to the wayside. Pizza Port's bottle shop in Carlsbad rarely has any on their tasting room menu, and they're affiliated. Makes me wonder what's up.

Kir. Sharp white wine with a little blackberry or balckcurrent liqueur. Or you can have raspberry or some others.
