Even with those tough political choices, the budget would balance in 2024 only because Mr. Ryan is assuming his cuts would prompt a burst of economic growth to raise tax revenues above what independent economists forecast. He also does not adjust the government’s revenue ledger to reflect the cost of repealing the health care law’s tax increases and Medicare cuts, which could total $2 trillion.

Of course, the stupidity of Americans in mid-term elections is well established.

Yeah, because the problem is not that there are few jobs available, the dollar is weakening and wages don't increase as quickly as the cost of living does. No, the problem is that people might be getting free shit, and the solution is to take that away. Because it's simply laziness that is keeping them from filling all of those empty job positions.

This is Republican logic, and the truly sad part is that so many people that will get screwed over by it will vote Republican because they are the party of Jesus.
