Literal belief in the flood story
RE: Literal belief in the flood story
Food for thought for those that cling to belief in the Noah's Ark myth:

The stated reason for the flood was to rid the world of wickedness, evil, violence and corruption (Gen 6). This is the Almighty creator of the Universe's plan for ridding his creation of wickedness.

Question:

Did it work?

Oh, but don't you see? That's man's fault. God can make everything perfect, and man just fucks it up with his imperfect nature. Never mind the fact that god is omniscient and knows it won't work. He did it anyway, and who are we to question? It's all our fault, and who are you to question god for using methods that he knew wouldn't work?
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I'm always amazed that they can't see that this makes their god look like a schmuck.

Or that it makes you wonder why they trust him to get it right the second time.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

You fucking asshole!

The whole premise of this thread was that God used magic (or you say "omnipotence" because "magic" offends you) to create the flood, so why didn't he use magic to save the children. That was the whole premise. You have just spent half a dozen pages shitting in this thread saying how it's possible without magic due to your poor understanding of science. You argue the most ludicrous assertions to death... and then you say but it doesn't matter cuz God used magic!

You disingenuous fuck! I am done talking to you regarding any topic forever.

I'm not sure Robby likes you too much child of god.

I do not worry about what others think of me, there are to many important things in life that need my attention.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
