as an atheist, what kind of morality do you foster in your lives?

RE: as an atheist, what kind of morality do you foster in your lives?
I'm just nice to everyone because that's my personality type. But if someone's an A hole to me first I'll just distance myself from that person. A lot of people would say my job as a stripper is immoral and I'll go to hell for it, but I'm not hurting anyone so I think it's perfectly fine. So yeah, I'd say my moral compass is guided by how much my actions hurt others.

I use the bible to decide my morality for me. So much less guilt and BONUS: I get to do most anything I want to other people if I don't like what they're doing.

I choose 2 and 3.

I don't know everyone on the planet. So I can't know what their preferences are. That's where my comment about mind reading comes in. So, in lieu of mind reading, I can treat people how I would like to be treated until I get to know them.

The 'platinum rule' is just an extension of the golden rule. If I know someone and they know me, I will treat them how I now know they would like to be treated because that is how I want to be treated.

Try not to be an officious douche.

If the platinum rule is both an extension and contradiction of the golden rule, then the golden rule is ambiguous.

I believe in not initiating violence (of any kind, including the emotional kind) to other people. I try my best at this. Other than that I'm extremely self interested. I only have one life after all.

Another little nugget I've learned over the decades goes something like this: "Be careful who you tread on trying to get to the top. You may have to pass them on the way back down."
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
