Next They'll Be Wanting to Burn Them

RE: Next They'll Be Wanting to Burn Them
From what I gather, frank conversations about masturbation, foul language, questioning God, and talking about sexual abuse are what this book is banned for. Give everyone a guess as to why it was really banned.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Why should christians be mocked in schools any more than any other group in the country?

Wink Shades

Nothing wrong with it. Beliefs that attract mockery deserve to be mocked. I just found it curious that we're being led by the nose - or worse - down the sex alley...

... hang on, I'll get my coat.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Because they get off on it.

Once again, this then requires the bible to be banned in schools

The bible is banned in schools.

Depends what they term as mockery.

Some Christians scream persecution just because you refuse to give them preferential treatment to push their beliefs on everyone.

If the vast majority of religious people were of a different type, it would be them. The reason christianity is mocked more often than other religions is because it's by far the most popular one for people to follow. I, for instance, have much more to say about it than other religions because I was raised around it. Not because I dislike it more than other Abrahamic religions and such.

There's very little educational potential in porn, however, my point is that to simply censor any sort of sexual reference, as if kids don't always have the ability to look at sex if they want to, is simply silly.

Quote:Why should christians be mocked in schools any more than any other group in the country?

Why should they be mocked any less, is the point at issue here. You christians seem to think that any less that perfect rendition of your religion is persecution, but I'd point out that, if we were going to ban books for mocking other religions, your bible calls anyone of a different belief system fools, and calls for them to be killed.

Which is really more offensive, there? Thinking

No it fucking isn't, you despicable liar.

Edited to add: I still have the bible they gave me at my primary school.

No, it's not.

Anymore than prayer is banned in public schools.
