Can I call ya?

First off, I will respond to any thread I feel like in the open forum. If you want to ask only certain people something, PM those people.

In response to your question: no it does not offend me. It annoys me. Like that question. You ask a question, people say "no," and you ask them if you have offended them. You asked me if you could call my girlfriend. I said no, we had 15 minutes of conversation of you trying to wheedle a way where you could talk to my girlfriend. The answer was and continues to be no.

You do not respect anyone's right to say no. You are not owed a reason why people wouldn't want to receive a call from you. "No" is enough.

I like you Matt. That is why I said you could call me, and gave you my number. I can choose when to talk to you if you call me (like when you tried to call me again at 11:30 at night) and I know that any conversation we have is going to be me practicing boundary control. That is fine with me. I can handle that. But to act like people are being unfair when they don't want you to call them is childish and beneath you.

Dude! What is so torturous or painful to you that you won't even let me call ya? What if I promise to talk for less than five minutes? What's the big deal?

After three minutes you can say, matt, fuck you! Your three minutes is up!

Why is that something you would ditch out of?

Because then you would still have their number. Maybe it's a sign of the times, but unless they know you well enough to be comfortable giving you that information, people are going to be very wary of your motives - well-intentioned though they may be.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Dude all you had do do is tell me don't call me after 9:00 pm. You are in a different timezone than me dude! What is your cause of suffering as a result of me?

SteelCurtain,

You gave out your phone number?

Do you want stalkers? Because that's how you get stalkers.

Do you realize that you just glossed over practically every observation he made, and then blamed him for your lack of self-restraint?

You have issues respecting boundaries, as evidenced by practically every post you've made today. I have issues with people who refuse to respect my boundaries.

So for me, the answer is no. Fuck no. ...and that will never change.

Personally I hate talking on the phone.

I reserve my phone number for friends and family and, unfortunately, strange people from work who feel the need to call me on my days off.

No, means no. I'm sure you hear this a lot from women in bars, Matt.

Read the post, did I say you caused me suffering? I was in bed listening to This American Life. I just hit 'Ignore.'

Anyhow, that wasn't the point of my post. Read it again.

You have demonstrated over and over again that you cannot and will not respect people's boundaries, spoken or otherwise. It is fairly obvious why people wouldn't want you to have their personal information.
